Drivers of overloaded vehicles use provincial roads and highways to avoid National Highways in Punjab. Presently, no weigh station is in operation in Punjab other than on National Highways operated by Federal agencies. Foregoing in view, Government of Punjab through Transport Department aims to launch Axle Load Regime in Punjab.
