Construction of Waste Water Treatment Plant at Northeast (Mehmood Booti NE-I and Shadbagh NE-II) and South West (BABU SABU), Lahore

Introduction

Currently, no Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) has been operating in Lahore and all the Wastewater is being discharged directly or indirectly into the River Ravi. At present, River Ravi is a sewage carrying drain and all the seepage from it, is nothing but sewage. Flow of sewage from the River Ravi is slowly polluting the ground water reservoir of Lahore and its vicinity. The project aims to address this grave environmental and health hazard by constructing wastewater treatment plants of 765 MGD capacity at Babu Sabu, Mahmood Boti and Shaadbagh area of Lahore.
