Introduction

District Council Gujrat intends to utilize the 80 Kanals of Shahbaz Sharif Park for the development of various amusement and recreational facilities. Since the site of Shahbaz Sharif Park is located between Lahore and Islamabad on G.T. Road N-5, it is expected that people commuting through Gujrat would like to stay for some time in Shahbaz Sharif Park which would be a source of tourism development in the province as well as the district. It will provide healthy outdoor recreational facilities to the residents of Gujrat as well as adjacent cities of Wazirabad, Gujranwala and Sialkot. The Project comprises of distinct components such as joyland, mini zoo & aviary, marquee, riverside restaurant, indoor restaurant, cinema and hotel.

Salient Features

Role of Government Agency

• Provision of land, free from all encumbrances
• Acquisition of all approvals and authorizations for the successful execution of the Project
• To provide enabling environment which include the provision of approach road to the project site, construction of parking facility and setting up external infrastructure for electricity, water and gas
• The grant of all the approvals to the private party for the commencement of the works and approving detailed design
• Provision of parking facility for at least 500 vehicles.

Role of Private Party

• Construction works and services
• Procure and install new, specified and necessary equipment, plant, machinery, apparatus, services and its supporting infrastructure.
• Operation and maintenance
• Private party shall ensure that no untreated water is let out in the river
